Take a look at the positive sides and do not try to explain why "GW PvP is bad in general".

ANet cannot provide you with friends, teams that work together and are not moronic, prevent leaving, and having better team mates in general.

But:

1. They can do something vs slow loaders:
The loading times are really a gripe, some people cannot be blamed for not doing -image, many do not even know this feature.

Solution: Force-load the arenas to people who enter the outpost where the battle starts

2. Reduce the odds of having bad teams due to class composition - which they already did
Monks and Ritualists, healers in general, are no longer as dominant as in normal RA due to their reduced healing and all people have limited healing abilities by themselves. Still, a rit is a useful bonus to the team.

This gametype (Costume Brawl), like it or not, introduces a new mode into GW thinking and game modes:

Make the best out of the tools given to you. Instead of trying to find the right tools (aka skills/builds) for what you imagine you want to do.
While people for good reasons prefer free skillbars, this gametype gets it tactical and strategical dimension from the fact that you KNOW each other's build.
This is a different take on making GW a thinking man's game, going away from build wars to player skill and tactics.

CB is not that good as this may sound, after a while you get bored by the fixed builds. But I think it is already more balanced and "fair" that they even more random random arena, and shrine capping gives me more than killcount and kill the other team game modes.

Dervishes : only in Melandru-and most people don't target melandru Dervs
Rangers: relatively agreed, and yet...
Sins : No. Once blind they can't apply their conds so their SoMalice.
BTW you forgot Paragons who have a cond signet which is very good.
When you're paired with, say, an ranger, who will cover your burn/blind with poison, or any cond applier, you're teh king.
I won't say Eles are overpowered, but their bar is very potent if you know how to play well, and completely own bad players (who don't know how to position themselves to avoid SF AoE, and have some delay before removing blind etc...).
Every bar is pretty balanced, still, some teams combinations are quite more deadly than others. That's why I would prefer, like AB, to choose my team.

The costume brawl was fun a little while, but I really wish they had repeatable quests or something for those who aren't too active in PvP to obtain holloween items. Here's hoping for next year. The brawl was a great idea, however.

Costume Brawl reminds me of CP in Team Fortress 2 (which ive been playing heavily) actually...

Its pretty fun.

You have limited class ability, and you have to know your function. You must work as a team because you cant beat certain things by yourself.

Like....you cant run a scout vs a sentry gun.

Just as you cant go warrior vs a burning arrow ranger (who will stack cripple under many conditions so you cant even come close, and interrupt you if you try to heal).

its not that cut and clean, actually.

Warrior can easily bait a distracting shot and continue to heal as much as they want. The ranger is much more likely to waste his time on a warrior that can play worth anything.

???

The Trick or Treat bags drop pretty frequently in PvE...

probably faster than waiting for a match to start and end!

The only thing I wish is that Dervs had another normal attack skill in the bar. Still, on a decent team with a good mix I've had very good luck. But when I get caught alone or the monk is rezing... it's pretty ugly without my own normal bar

Still lots of fun. Almost maxed my faction and I have no use for it at all It's just for kicks and giggles.

I am so desperately wanting to go back and play that game! It is so much fun!!

I don't really like costume brawl, the builds are a bit strange. I didn't even really like the snowball arena, which is about the same. At least you get to play in NPC clothing!

Sure this has been said, but I wish Devona had a Hammer build...

Absolutely. Find a low area that has gobs of critters and just clear it out. I started doing it to level a new animal companion as well. Find out what you can trade in to the Halloween collectors and do an area like that as well if it fits the fast, sweeping purge theory.

I went on a 15 win streak and was really bored, it was fun, but the games last to long for very little reward. I tried a few other chars to play the builds, but it was still boring.

Yep, an additionnal ToT bag for each 5 wins streaks could be fun (max +5 bag/victory after 21 victories).
